New Knee Procedure Gets Athletes Back on Track

Dr. Brian Halpern, sports medicine physician in the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service, discusses the use of platelet rich plasma (PRP) for non-professional athletes suffering from chronic tendon overload. PRP is a non-operative procedure where patients are injected with their own blood platelets to promote healing and to possibly delay joint replacement procedures.
